Hi Jeff, I fear I may potentially have some difficulties with interviews due to being laid off. When I sat down with my employer, he wouldn’t give me a reason for being let go. I asked him if i’m being fired and he said no that it was a lay off.
He even said I was a hard worker and that I could use him as a reference. However, the unemployment sheet states “discharged/suspension.” I’m worried that if I tell future employers that I was laid off and then they go to call my past employer only to find out the reason was discharged, would hurt my credibility.
