Create a Personal Brand on Social Media

Create a Personal Brand on Social Media

By Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter

When it comes to career branding, it is essential to build a consistent and positive image on social media. If people do not like what they see, you are unlikely to get any shares, likes, or comments on your posts. If you disagree with a topic, be sure to state it clearly without sarcasm, snark, or rancor. In addition, be genuine and engage with others. You can hire a personal branding expert to help you. After all, this is your career we’re talking about. It’s important.

Social media is an effective way to build your personal brand. Use popular hashtags and news aggregator sites to find content relevant to your niche. Only share content that supports your personal brand. You can also post your personal information, but only when it is relevant to your niche and supports your goals. Having a social media presence doesn’t mean you can do anything you want. You must decide what to do and don’t do and learn how to create a social media identity that reflects your goals.

While social media is usually about connecting with people, it is an excellent platform to build your personal brand that is easy to communicate with, whether online or in person. Above all, you must be authentic and honest. It is important to remember that branding is a process, not a one-time event. You should work to improve your personal brand through social media because it can help you get or keep your career on track and keep it on the rails.

Keep your content consistent across your social media channels. People and social media networks will be looking for consistency, and if you post inconsistently, it can hurt your reputation. Where possible, use branding tools like Canva and to automate the process and post content when it is most appropriate for your audience. These tools allow you to compose your weekly content in one sitting and schedule it to optimal times for each channel. They also let you post videos or photos in multiple channels.
