Conveying Confidence During a Salary Negotiation

Most of the time, the two of you will never see one another during this part of a negotiation. You will be on your phone or working through an intermediary. If you are on the phone, it is all about your voice. If you are working through an intermediary, again, your voice has to communicate that they can’t “finesse” or “manipulate” you into something you find unacceptable. In both circumstances, the certainty of your speech demonstrates your confidence in your belief of your value.
