Today’s questions are:
I had a question about job applications in regards to checking the disability box. I have Crohn’s and have wondered if this would be a disservice to check or if it could help set me apart if talking about it in my cover letter and how it has helped me overcome adversity, etc. Just wanted your thoughts on this as I am having a hard time getting interviews.
My resume makes me look like a job hopper as I have had a lot of different positions over the past 4 years with no fault of my own (worked for start-ups, moved, had health issues, etc.) and I am wondering how to approach this appropriately in interviews so employers don’t see me that way.
When employers ask why you are on the job market is it okay to say that the role you are currently in was one you were not hired for (because of COVID) and not presented to you in the correct way and therefore you want to do something else more aligned with your skill set and/or what you thought you would be doing. Or should the focus be on wanting a new challenge, growth, etc.?
