How Do You Know You Should Change Careers?
If you want to change careers but need ideas of possible new ones that might shoot you, there’s some great assessments that will suggest specific jobs. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no BS job search advice and career coaching globally because I make the process so much easier for people. I worked in search for a long time and filled a lot of positions and I have a perspective on the job market and employment that few in my profession have. So here are some of my top choices of career assessments that provide tailor career recommendations.
And the first one, frankly, is my favorite one, CareerFitter. In the paid version, it asks questions about your interests, personality, and values. And then it’ll suggest careers that fit your profile. It has a wide variety of customized recommendations. You can find out about this one at TheBigGameHunter.us/career. If you order it, I may make $8 on it.
The second one is the Strong Interest Inventory, which connects your interests to a list of career options and offers more than 200 personalized recommendations, along with next steps. The next one is not really an assessment, but it’s a searchable list of careers for you to look into. It’s called MyNextMove. It is from the Department of Labor of the United States. It has an array of activities you enjoy then gives you job matches. It’s simple. It’s completely free. To me, it’s an honest assessment, and it has info about specific careers.
The next one is careerkey.org, which combines your talents and interests to generate targeted career ideas, incorporating the Holland codes and its suggestions. Next is CareerExplorers career test, which asks you about your interests, talents, work values, and personality to suggest matching careers. The last thing for today is Princeton Review’s career quiz. Now, there are a number of firms that, if you do a Google search of career quiz, they will turn up but I’m specifically pointing to Princeton Review’s version, which is quick and shows careers and college majors. That could be a match for your interests.
