You can do this by creating a portfolio of your work samples, testimonials, awards, and certifications. You can also share your stories, challenges, and successes to highlight your skills, knowledge, and impact. Additionally, you can showcase your value and achievements by participating in online communities, forums, and groups related to your field and interests.”

I commented, “As much as people want to believe that value and achievements are important, the missing ingredient in this suggestion is showcasing your opinions about different professional topics. A comment, an article, a video, a post from X, something that suggests your expertise starts laying the foundation of habits of self-promotion that help someone be seen and cut the line to get to the front of mind in others’ thinking. after all, it isn’t “the best detergent” that makes us buy it. We assume it will clean our laundry. We buy it for different reasons–price, a coupon, we were told to buy it, some other reason. You can be like that detergent purchase and don’t simply focus on achievements and value.”
