A little boy was holding two gigantic apples, one in each hand. He couldn’t be more than four.

His mother walked over and asked, “Matt have one of your apples?”

The little boy took a small bite from the first apple and then from the second apple.

His mother hid her disappointment.

“Here, Mom,” as he handed her an apple. “This one is much sweeter.”

It isn’t just with children where we make assumptions about what they are thinking and doing.

We do it in the workplace, as well.

Try to wait for confirmations before making a decision about someone and their motivations. You may never get and may discover that you misinterpreted the person’s behavior for that they were following someone else’s directive in doing what upset you.
