If you’re an information worker, if you’re the classic LinkedIn, college-educated office professional—you know, what they used to call a white-collar worker—yes, it’s important to find a job. But I also want you to think of this as a subsidized period for looking for a career transition, looking for an exit ramp for the work that you’re doing.
Why? Because AI is coming for your job. They’re going to replace you at some point. It’s getting smarter, and everything you’re doing is training it to replace you. So yes, get a job; don’t waste a lot of time with it. But focus on landing somewhere so that, this way, you can start paying attention to developing an exit ramp from doing things that AI can do far better than you.
