Your Inner Mentor | Career Angles

By Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter

Almost all of us have a voice within us that acts like an inner compass.

It represents true North for beliefs and principles.

We also have a “shadow mentor,” who represents the voice of fear and doom and so many situations. That mentor is the source of our pressure because it reflects the conflict with our better selves. It serves a useful purpose . . . Up to a point.

It reminds us of what can go wrong. But usually it goes too far.

Start with your inner compass but ask for the advice of the shadow mentor. Thank it for its import and promise it that you will take into consideration as you make decisions moving forward. Promise it that if you need to return to what you will.
