What does it mean when a recruiter keeps looking up my profile weeks after interview?

What does it mean when a corporate recruiter keeps looking at my profile weeks after an interview? Now, to me, there’s a couple of possible reasons. The primary ones are number one: they haven’t made a decision. They’re just checking to see if you’re still available. Not likely, but that one is a possibility.

The more likely one is—and the fascinating thing is they don’t use their ATS for this—they’re using LinkedIn to do this. So recognize they don’t like their applicant tracking system. They’re just going on to LinkedIn, looking at your profile, and trying to see if you fit something new that has just opened.

So, each time they’re getting a new position, they’re running a search in LinkedIn Recruiter. They’re seeing that you’re there, they’re taking a look at your profile. They’re not that smart; they don’t remember. That’s the more likely one, I’m sorry to say. So, you know, given that it’s been weeks since your last interview, I don’t think it’s likely that they’re just checking to see if you’re available for that job. I think it’s more likely they’re checking to see if you’re available for another job.
