Although a polished profile is crucial, the reality is that LinkedIn Recruiter licenses come at a hefty price. Typically, it’s smaller firms and third-party consultants that leverage this the most. For full-time employment (FTE) aspirants, applying directly through Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is the best way to get into a company’s database and access job descriptions. Major corporations usually turn to LinkedIn Recruiter when struggling to fill a specialized position. Considering the vast pool of job seekers, many of us don’t stand out as unique. My own experience with LinkedIn over the years hasn’t been particularly fruitful, especially when observing the sheer number of applicants for each role. The notion that a paid consultant has a secret formula for success is misleading; most of the guidance they offer can be found for free on platforms like YouTube.
I don’t understand why you would post identical messages on two separate videos. Let me respond a bit differently than I did on the other post you made. For job hunters, applying to the ATS may get you into the data base . . . but that assumes that they are going to go back and do searches when other positions open in the future. Most are too busy to do so. Then, at a later date, even years later if a recruiter attempts to present you, they may proclaim, “They are already in our system,” refuse to accept the referral from the third party recruiter but are too busy to reach out to someone. Someone doesn’t get the interview, blames the third party recruiter who has no idea that someone submitted your resume 3 years ago and are unable to get someone an interview at their client and, here’s the kicker, the person never knows why they can’t get interviewed with this firm. Job hunters think of the ATS as the black hole for a reason.
