Why Are Big Tech Professionals Struggling to Find Work?

I have not been laid off but I read the data on job creation in the US each month. For those who have lost their jobs, finding a job in Big Tech has been extremely hard because the jobs that have been created in the US fall into several categories–government jobs, social services, leisure and hospitality, healthcare, construction, and retail. Jobs in what the US Bureau of Labor Statistics refers to as the information industry have steadily declined since the white-collar recession began more than two years ago. In addition, jobs with Big Tech have paid people more than in other industries so companies are afraid to hire you because they believe that when things pick up again, you will leave for better pay (They are probably right about that). So, it has been hard for people to find work because there are fewer jobs for what you d let alone in industries that will pay you what you are used to earning.
