For countless millennia, men and women have wanted to know who they are at their core.

Often, they make a decision based upon their ability to be resilient in the face of an enormous challenge.

For example, boys, teens will be initiated into manhood by their tribes through a process where they were kidnapped by the older men, disguised to hide their identity, taking deep into the forest where they would have to do a physical challenge, a physical battle with a wild beast.

In modern times, few of us (and probably none of us who are online), have to face that kind of a challenge.

We do have to face professional and personal challenges that will define us for many years to come.

Will we give up?

In giving up, when you point a finger or make excuses for why you didn’t succeed?

Will you accept mediocrity for yourself and those around you?

We continue to fight to be your best self and share that with the world?

Can you continue to open your heart to others or we become so hardened by this experience will be hard to trust and love again?

The choices you make are yours. I won’t judge or criticize you for them. I have certainly made my own good decisions and bad ones, as well.

Whatever decision you make I want to remind you that you can make another decision later on in change that first one.

Remember, the choices you make will define you to others and to yourself.

Remember to ask yourself, “who are you,” before you bake one of those decisions and make sure that is congruent with that answer.
