It amazes me how many people work in jobs they dread and for firms they loathe.
Why do you keep doing it to yourself? They aren’t doing it to you. You are doing it to yourself. You perpetuate the dulling of your life and the transformation from an energized excited human being into one who is lethargic, uninspired and a member of the walking dead.
“It’s hard!”
“I don’t have time!”
“No money.”
I hear the words of resignation and excuses.
You are comfortable in your misery.
If that is what you want, that’s OK. Just shut up and stop lamenting your circumstances because you are making a choice not to change things.
A million women and men before you, faced with the same challenges made the effort to change jobs, go to school and do the work to become who they wanted to be. Your excuses are yours. Don’t demand sympathy with your stories. Don’t look for allies in misery.
Do something different.
