Springing into Action | Career Angles

One year, we had a lot of “wet” where we live in Asheville, NC. I remember a time when the rains were particularly heavy and I walked into my garage and saw some “wet” that we haven’t seen in years and sprang into action. We ran the shop vac continually for hours, we swept water to a drain. We woke our teen son up and got him to relieve my wife so she could get another bigger unit and a pump. No one likes a crisis but, sometimes, you just have to spring into action and take action. When was the last crisis you faced professionally and how did you respond to it? Are you satisfied with how you reacted or responded? If not, what could you have done differently? Leaders lead. Sometimes they show their leadership by following. Followers sometimes step up big or just follow. No value judgments from me about that but do you have a judgment? Since then, we had a system installed in the basement that recognizes groundwater that might seep in and immediately pumps it out away from the house. Immediate action plus a long-term solution
