Self-Judgement | Career Angles

I hope you laugh when you read this (I certainly and is it write this) but I see myself, despite all my efforts, as being unseen wave in a huge ocean.

Despite all my efforts and all my years, few of you know that I exist.

Pretty funny, huh?

Yet, this is the self-talk that I can fall prey to when I am unconscious.

I can minimize all that I’ve done and all who I’ve helped when I’m not paying attention and that little voice creeps in to tell me how futile it is all been.

Almost all of us have a voice like that.

One of the benefits I have are friends to remind me that, although I may be isolated right now, as I have been for several months, I continue to have an impact on more people than I can imagine, that the waves of my efforts have gone out into the world and touched countless people and their families for generations to come.

Defeating the voice of self-judgment is rarely a solitary process. I may laugh at myself at times for what the voice says to me. I may take it a while to figure out when in my past I took in that message from someone. And I’m at a stage in life where I am aware enough to know I have delivered it to others, as well.

My work is imperfect, as is yours.

My work is beneficial. I hope yours is, too.
