One of the ways to recession-proof your career is understanding what’s marketable and upskilling yourself. Now, in so many fields, there are so many choices that you have about how to upskill, how to improve your knowledge base so that you’re even more marketable than you might be today.
Think in terms of what’s going to make you stand out from others in your knowledge. Think about where your field is going over the next few years. Start looking at alternatives. Talk to people. You don’t have to figure this out on your own.
Talking to people and getting people’s advice, not just one person, but multiple people who you know, like trust and respect, will help you a lot in this regard.
