The obvious way to recession proof your career is to use your relationships with people to introduce you to opportunities going forward. So often people drop the ball and lose relationships with people from their past and their network. They don’t really tend to like a field and keep it rich and robust. And thus when needed, someone reaches out, and no one really cares anymore. Because there’s no friendship. There’s been no benefit either of you.

Stay in touch with people from your past. Build new relationships with people going forward. It will serve you and if you need help, they’re more likely to help you.
