Most of us who try to help with job search, spend a lot of time on tactics and strategies to help you perform well. But we don't deal with the emotional side of the job search. And that can be the single biggest determinant as to how quickly you land because job hunting is frustrating. You have people ghosting you, no responses, people who promise feedback, never give it, the resumes that get sent into the black hole with no results.

Your mental attitude, putting aside the positivity stuff that you hear from a lot of folks, your mental attitude that says "I will not give up. I want to land the job--" the fierceness with which you attack this without looking angry. Your determination, your insistence. on moving forward. There's the old old Churchill quote, never ever surrender.

I'll just simply say, don't let other people infect you, and affect you, so that you feel depressed. Don't let other people's attitudes get through.

You know, I want to remind you of something. If you watched my videos for the last year o,r so I've been saying, most of the time in US culture, it's pretty common for people to say "Take it easy." No. Be great. Don't let other people's problems, like I saw one today. The person who gets to the final interview with the CEO who is so tuned out during the interview, they're preoccupied with something. And obviously this person stood no chance. Having worked so hard to get in the door with someone, they weren't really there, if you know what I mean.

You can't let this kind of stuff get through. It's their crap. And they're throwing it on you. It's an infection. It's a virus. Don't let it allow-- don't allow it to hurt you. Mentally inoculate yourself, mentally vaccinate yourself against all the stuff, all the nonsense, all the frustration and just focus like an athlete does on a great game. Focus like a great entertainer does on putting on a terrific show. After that it's out of your hands. But your job is to be great in every step along the way.
