In sports, when players have an opportunity to perform, they better do it . . . or else.
Injuries are nothing more than an excuse. You put yourself in the position to be hurt. As a result, you as a player can’t be counted on.
Professionally, when you have an opportunity to step in for “the starter,” do you take advantage of the opportunity or do you start giving “explanations” for why you couldn’t deliver what was needed?
Opportunity doesn’t happen often, and when it is offered, you better deliver or keep your mouth shut until you can deliver.
Winners find the way to win. Losers have excuses or “explanations.”
