Online Ads | No BS Job Search Advice

By Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter

Online ads are not only used by large organizations; small and medium-scale businesses are increasingly taking advantage of the benefits of online ads to promote their jobs. The popularity of online ads can be attributed to the rapid spread of the Internet. The Internet is one of the most powerful tools for reaching a large number of people in a short period of time. Moreover, it is cost-effective. This has made it one of the most popular modes of advertising on the net with a ratio of about ten times that of TV/ Radio advertising.

Online advertising is normally classified under pay-per-click ads or cost-per-mile ads. It is also commonly known by other names as banner advertising, pop-up advertising, and search engine advertising. Online advertising is done in many ways, such as through emails, text messages, banners, websites, etc. Most online ads have a minimum effective population and are classified as pay-per-click ads or cost per mile ads. Online advertising aims at increasing exposure to the positions offered by the advertiser. While some businesses make use of traditional advertising techniques like newspapers, television, etc., online ads provide a cost-effective means of reaching a larger audience within a shorter period of time.

Some of the most popular online advertising formats include text-based online advertising; online ads fill fewer than 10% of all jobs, and video online ads account for nearly seventy percent of all online advertising. Studies show that online ads are much more effective in generating leads and that online advertising is far cheaper than other forms of advertising.
