No BS Career Advice: September 11, 2024

By Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter

I was in midtown Manhattan on 9/11 so today brings up many bad memories for me. There are many people who have far worse ones than I do, but it does remind me of things I wish had not happened. I am releasing this week’s episode a little later than I usually do, 8:46 am, and an audio of my memories at 9:03, the times the planes hit the building. If you lost someone that day, I know they are not forgotten even if our politicians don’t take a moment to recognize them and their death.

You probably didn’t hear this part of the jobs report in your news: A bad July report that said the economy created 114000 jobs was revised downward to 89000. An OK June report that claimed 179000 new jobs were created was revised downward to 118000.

It almost seems like the BLS has been captured by political forces to claim things are good going into the election. The August report claims 142000 new jobs were created. I can’t wait to see the revisions to this one.

One of my favorite books is “The Ultimate Job Interview Framework.” It teaches a framework for interviewing that has helped many thousands of people interview like an AllStar. It is available as a paperback or for Kindle. You can also get it as part of any Insider membership at JobSearch.CommunityThere, it is also available as a video course, too. I learned this from interviewing clients when I did recruiting so it is practical and effective because people who hire gave me a cheat sheet for how to interview.

If you are a recruiter or coach helping people with interviewing, it will help you fill more jobs and help more people find work.

Here is some of the content I released this week:
