For those you who are currently working and feeling unsettled about whether to change jobs in the midst of what can only be described as a terrible job market for LinkedIn users, here are a few questions to ask yourself to get clear about where you stand with your current workplace:

1) Do I know what is expected of me at work?

2) Do I have the materials and equipment to do my work right?

3) At work, do I have the opportunity to do what I do best every day?

4) In the last seven days, have I received recognition or praise for doing good work?

5) Does my supervisor, or someone at work, seem to care about me as a person?

6) Is there someone at work who encourages my development?

7) At work, do my opinions seem to count?

8) Does the mission/purpose of my company make me feel my job is important?

9) Are my associates (fellow employees) committed to doing quality work?

10) Do I have a best friend at work?

11) In the last six months, has someone at work talked to me about my progress?

12) In the last year, have I had opportunities to learn and grow?

13. At work, I am treated with respect.

14. My organization cares about my overall well-being.

15. I have received meaningful feedback in the last week.

16. My organization always delivers on the promise we make to customers.

These come from Gallup’s Q12 survey, which suggests managers should consider employee needs when managing people and help them remain engaged. These are listed as the employee needs to consider.

If you are currently working but not feeling good about your workplace, ask yourself how well your current firm is meeting your needs.

As I do every week, I shared content to help people find their next role. Here are some of what I shared and links to them:
