As I watch politicians talk, I can’t help but notice when they avoid answering the question and, in doing so, telling me everything I know about them.
Moments like these are signals that tell you something about the men and women in front of you.
You have these moments, too, with your people.
They ask you a question and you give them a nice political answer back.
No one challenges you and you think you’re off the hook.
Actually, you taught them that they can trust you.
That “little lie,” separated you from them.
You will never be one of them again.
They now know that you will bullshit them.
Useful for them; bad for you.
