I think the key here is “too eager.”

Why People Hate Corporate Recruiters

To me, the word eager is the key word here. Eager to me is too much. And you never want to appear like you’re too desirous in an interview.

Why do I say that? There’s so much about interviewing that’s like dating, and the anxious date, the one that’s so attentive, that they’re listening to every word you say, and they’re hanging on as though it’s the most important thing in the world. Those people don’t get second dates. So, you don’t want to come across as like a stalker, someone who’s too eager.

You want to appear interested, desirous, but not eager, certainly not too eager. So, is it bad? Yes. Because it comes across to most people as appearing desperate.

And no one should try to come across as being desperate, either in dating, or in job interviewing and such.
