In a rut

In a Rut? | Career Angles

What is a rut?

If you think of a rut in a dirt field, is a place where vehicles have driven over the same patch of land repeatedly. As a result, what you see your tire tracks like grooves in the field (I bet you thought I’d say, “record,”).

How do you get out of a rut?

You turn the wheels of the car a few degrees in one direction. In the US, you might try slightly to the right. In other parts of the world that might be slightly to the left. What happens is the driver’s side becomes slightly elevated as it raised out of the rut and you can see further again.

If you’re in a rut, don’t keep doing the same thing. Make a slight change.
