I Was Nervous on an Interview and Froze. Do You Think I Could Get Another Chance?

By Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter

I really blew a job interview because I was so nervous I couldn’t really think. When a company be likely to give me another chance if I explained my anxiety?

Becoming the CEO of Your Career

I’m  Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter here with a great question from someone. I really blew a job interview because I was so nervous. I couldn’t really think.nervous Would a company be likely to give me another chance if I explained my anxiety? I just want to read that from the note that was sent.

Yeah, if you mentioned it during the interview, you have a small chance and it had to have been acknowledged by them. Would you like to have noticed? Would you like to come back on another day? Would you like to take a moment to compose yourself and we can meet back here in 15 minutes? Something like that. If this just happened at the interview and you never said anything, the likelihood is very small.

One of the ways that people could avoid anxiety, and nervousness, however you want to describe your fear is through practice. Usually people are nervous because they’re unprepared and firms are asking them questions that they don’t feel ready for. So your goal whenever you can is to start practicing. The more you practice (and to me, practice is you’re actually speaking the answers to these questions), the more likely you are to succeed and avoid nervousness.
