How to get more interviews. If you’re really qualified, not you think you’re qualified, but if you know you’re really qualified, avoid the applicant tracking system. Maybe you go for the employee referral, but concurrently, always look for the third way in.
You know, when you’re in a nightclub, you’re waiting online. That’s the applicant tracking system. When you’re trying to get the employee referral, that’s the backdoor. The third door is the one down the alley that you bang on and eventually someone opens up. Find a third way in. It could be setting yourself up to be contacted, finding yourself in the position where you’re sharing great material with the president of the firm that would actually benefit them and not just simply some stupid message.
