How to Get More Interviews: Are There Multiple Positions Open Like This?

I’m not a big fan of applying online and if you found a company hiring people with similar backgrounds, you may not want to apply to one and risk cutting yourself out of the others. Here’s what to do.

How to Get More Interviews: Submit a Video with Your Resume

One way to get more interviews is, instead of applying, look to see if that same firm has more than one position open just like the one that you’re interested in. Instead of applying to that one job, which may knock you out for all the others, contact the head of the department or the head of the function that this job exists in. Say you noticed that they’re looking for more than one type of person like this and who’s coordinating the recruiting for this? Or is there one person in the organization who you might contact about these roles? And you can go on, if they follow up and say, ‘why don’t you just apply for a job?’ You’ve got four different ones, you’ve got three different ones, six different ones and my concern is that if I apply to one I won’t be considered for the others. So that’s why I’m looking to cut the line like this.
