Going Through the Motions | Career Angles

The performers came out on stage and sang familiar songs, ones they performed thousands of times on stages throughout the world.

They hit the notes. There were even some things that were little different.

But it looked like they were going to the motions.

Just another performance.

Nothing special for them.

Just another day on stage performing in front of 30,000 fans.

The fans loved it but you can see a difference for them.

With specialty you about your work now?

Is the excitement gone?

How do you get it back?

The difference between amateur and professional is the ability to do something right every time on purpose. Amateurs are great but they can’t duplicate what they did that was so special at the time.

The moments that are great happen infrequently. They did it once and think that was enough.

They trained for greatness.

They trained for greatness every moment of the life.

They may reach the pinnacle of performance at the Olympics, in the World Series, in World Cup, and the Super Bowl. And when they slip it’s only a drop . . . Until age catches up with them and the decline seems precipitous. Then, there is a time they are paid for our memories of their greatness.

I digress.

How can you make one thing in your otherwise humdrum day seem new and fresh?

How do you dissect what you did fix the pieces or piece that is broken, reassemble it and feel excited again.

Greatness is lifelong.

Be great!
