Difficult People

There are difficult people and then there are difficult people.
Some difficult people are difficult because they have a different opinion than you about how something should be done. Some people are difficult people who remind us of someone from our past. Some difficult people are difficult because they bully people, mindlessly gossip, avoid work, or just try to out-compete everyone in the organization.
If they have a different opinion than yours and are personally more persuasive, admit that you don’t like to come in second.
If they remind you of someone from your past (or yourself), look for who they are and not the story you tell yourself.
Learning about your reactions and responses to situations is a big part of leadership. You can’t lead others until you learn to lead yourself.
