Hi! This is Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter and you're listening to The No BS
Coach Advice Podcast. I like to spend a few minutes with you regularly talking
with you about some element of life, the universe, and everything, and today, I'm
going to talk with you . . . it's gonna be the first of a series I'm going to do. I've
got some ideas that I learned from Lance Secretan, a coach, Canadian-based, he also
spends a lot of time in the US and it's called The Castle Principles. It's a
trademark term.. So, I want to give Lance credit for that. Castle: courage,
authenticity, service, truthfulness, love and effectiveness. Today I'm going to talk
with you about courage. Courage is often something that we associate with, for
example, the men and women who ran into The World Trade Center on September 11th
2001. It took courage to do that and there's other types of courage, as well.
The courage to recognize the changes necessary and the willingness to
persevere past the point where you might normally quit. Many people, myself
included, spend time with great excuses for why we don't do things, why we were
able to procrastinate and limit ourselves, hold on to our fears, rather
than transcend them. Maybe that's true of you, too.
I don't know. I know it's true of me and as much as I try, I have to push myself. I
have to love myself enough to transcend these limits. It all begins with courage--
this willingness to change. This desire to change starts with courage. It
progresses to the other factors that. Lance talks about that I'll talk with
you about in ensuing podcasts: authenticity, service, truthfulness, love, effectiveness
CASTLE. But it begins with courage--
the courage to look in someone's eyes and say to them "I love you enough to
tell you that you can do better. I love you enough to tell you no. I love you
enough that no matter what, I'm going to stand in the way and stand behind you
when that's call for, too. Courage. The willingness to stand in the fire and
make sure that no one, nothing blocks you, stops you, holds you back, keeps you from
doing what's needed and necessary, that passion, that drive, that energy to change
begins with courage. it begins with courage.
Where are you being less than courageous? Where can I help you? Where can I love
you enough to encourage you? Notice that term--encourage you, support you, push
you when needed, in order to transcend those self-imposed
limitations. If you'd like to know more, or like to connect with me personally,
reach out to me through NoBSCoachingAdvice.com. There are places there
where you can schedule time with me. I'd love to help you.
I'd love to encourage you. Hope you have a great day and take care.
