Hi Jeff. I had a interview a few weeks ago and just 10 days ago I had a medical for that job and I havent heard any word back. What do you think I should do?
Call them. “1- Days seems like a long time for medical results to come back,” Is how you start your call, If they took a urine sample, sometimes they have to check a false positive and send the sample for the more expensive test. Sometimes, they forget or lose track. Call.
@Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter They took a urine sample and then did an eye tests and a hearing test. They said that I am a bit short sighted and that my hearing is a bit down. She also said that I would have to the hearing test again in a week or two but I still haven’t heard anything back

@Irish Countryman definitely call them to follow up. Depending upon the role, i.e. driving, heavy machinery, it can be any of these items. Some firms want to maintain a drug-free environment and thus the urine sample is the issue. Good luck and keep us posted.
@Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter Hi Jeff. I have been in contact with someone from HR. They said that weren’t sure what shifts I wanted to do whether it was weekend or evening shift. I told them that I didnt mind doing either and that they would get back to me. Its been 1 week as of today. I am going to wait for them to get back in touch.

yup.. and it may have nothing to do with the job seeker… in 2015.. when it was announced they were closing my office & our jobs were eliminated.. jobs had been posted…interviews done, offers made…and HR & the hiring managers had to call the candidates to tell them, sorry the office is closing, we have to rescind the offer(even though it had been accepted). People had started at the company 3 months prior and found out like all of us that they were losing their job(even one who had been in intern in my department, when we had cut backs, they were cut as an intern, and then a few years later, came back full time into a different department… I had a interview, that i KNEW i had the job, but they were being sold & that was finalizing and there was a hiring freeze. The job didn’t open up until the following year-9 months later.. I applied, but wasn’t even called for an interview for that application.
That is an awful story.
