Becoming the Target | Career Angles

I want to start by saying that this post and others like it that involved Pres. Trump are not about politics in any way shape or form.
I read a book many years ago called, “The True Believer,” written by Eric Hoffer the talks about the rise of mass movements and uses the example of Nazi Germany to make its points. Hoffer believed that mass movements need an enemy in order to thrive.
For many, Pres. Trump has become that enemy, a target for derision and hatred. These are people who will never vote for him.
For you, for your group or division, for the business that you work for, avoiding becoming the target of people’s hatred is even more important than being the recipient of their love.
Hate triumphs over love despite the slogan to the contrary.
Even strong dislike is difficult to overcome and requires years of effort to shift.
Almost as bad is being unnoticed, invisible, inconsequential.
Becoming the target and becoming unnoticed our problems for you professionally and for the business that you work for.
Tides shift and the invisible can become the loved or hated. It’s hard for the hated to become the loved except by the people who love him/her/the service already.
Where do you fall into this equation?

Maybe it’s an environmental issue. You need to change the environment for yourself and for others.
