A Recruiter Is Asking for My Social Security Number? Is It OK? | JobSearchTV.com

I got hired to work at a hospital through a recruiting company and am being asked to fill out paperwork as part of the onboarding process. However, I need to submit a photocopy of my SSN card and the recruiter said to either email it or text it to him. Does anyone know if this is safe?

    You did not answer the question. Indian recruiters have your personal information. They are sitting in India. There has been an arrest of a huge Indian ID theft scam. People have every right to be wary of.
    It also leads to another issue, why are there no local recruiters. Why are we not giving business to US staffing agencies?
