There is an interesting circle in job search blogs (at least it’s interesting to me and a few others) that the same sites are recommended and often have the same mediocre information.
Don’t get me wrong. Some of the sites are fabulous.
But this is not an article about them. People seem to compile the list from previous lists and don’t do enough digging to find others.
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by these five.
Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter Yes, my blog is mentioned from time to time. However, when you have a blog with more than 10,000 posts that you can watch, listen to, or read that help people find work more easily, hire more effectively, manage and lead to better, as well as being more effective in the workplace. As a former executive recruiter, I offer answers to real-life issues job hunters have. Go to the blog using the drop-down menu on top for a lot of great information to help you.
Zety.com has an online resume builder and an excellent blog with advice about job search, interviewing, and career advice. Of course, they provide information about cover letters and resumes, but the blog is first-rate.
ResumeLab.com is a site that provides high-quality information about writing cover letters and resumes, search, as well as templates for resume and cover letter writing. One of the areas I find particularly strong are the articles related to career advice. Yes, they have a resume builder.
LiveCareer.com If you haven’t noticed yet, the sites I’m mentioning are sites with a resume builder and great content.LiveCareer is no exception. Their articles about employer-desired skills needed in 2021 is broken up by professions/careers so that you understand some of the things you need to be working on today for your career tomorrow.
MyPerfectResume.com This is the last blog I’m going to mention. It, like the others, has quality information about many elements of job hunting. You will see the articles in the career resources area of the site.
What I find interesting is how few sites tackle salary negotiation like mine does. They focus on their strengths and do excellent special reports with perspectives different than mine you should hear, too.
I believe these five should be part of your repertoire when you’re looking for career advice and job search advice. They aren’t selected as frequently as the usual suspects and are no less capable.
