It’s hard for me to hear people saying, “Thank you.” I practice accepting it and staying in the conversation rather than deflecting it with comments like, “Oh, that’s okay,” or, “It was nothing,” or, “Anyone would do the same thing.”
I know I need to get better at that.
But there are other people who need to get better at saying, “Thank you,” in a sincere way, making eye contact with the receiver expressing their gratitude.
It is certainly true in the workplace.
Learning to say thank you is an important skill to develop. It acknowledges an honors the person that you speak with an conveys appreciation.
There isn’t enough of that in the world today.
