No one cares how many hours you put into that project you labored over.
No one, except your family, cares that you missed a family event to get this done.
No one cares that you were learning something new in order to accomplish the objective.
All they care about of the results that you got.
When it comes time to make staff cuts because of the next recession, knowing a position of authority will know how much you put in during these times. They will do it by the numbers.
You will have the benefit of that experience, of that determination, of that doggedness I got you through this and be able to take it somewhere else.
However, if you think you will of score “Brownie points” that will save your job, your deluded.
Although now the times are good and no one thinks this way, think ahead. Foster your relationships now so that when each of you needs them they are in place.
