When you look at your parents and the lessons about work they passed on, what did you take on from them?
Were they hard-working?
Were the happy-go-lucky?
Where they supercritical?
Did they try to learn?
What did you see them do from a work standpoint?
Did you ever go with them while they did manual labor?
Did you ever help one of your parents to manual labor around your home?
What is your approach to work now that you learned from them?
Would they be proud of you?
Would they be happy with what you’ve become?
What would they encourage you (or criticize you) to do differently?
Does that invoice live within you and talk to you regularly?
We learn a lot from her parents and assimilated into our behaviors around work and elsewhere.
Those lessons that we learn help shape us and streamline our integration into work.
And this is the hard want to hear, sometimes we take the wrong lesson from their experience and need to reshape it to suit who we are today and who we want to become tomorrow.
Don’t waste time.
A lifetime is not a long time.
Our time will eventually run out on us.
Get to work!
