Your job is to lead.
You job is not to be “head friend.”
A leader is different than their staff.
They carry the responsibility of being looked at differently and having more expectations placed upon them.
When you surrender your leadership to become “one of the guys,” or “one of the girls,” standards disappear with your leadership, too.
You’ll find the environment deteriorates because no one holds the center.
When you don’t hold the center, no one will in the galaxy will spin out of control.
It’s okay to learn as you go along. After all, these days, few people are prepared to lead what is given to them.
If you are afraid to be great, expect mediocrity.
