Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes after you list your degree on an application? This video pulls back the curtain on one of the most critical steps in the hiring process: degree verification!

How does a recruiter verify degree documents of applicants applying for a job? I mentioned this earlier. Contact the schools or the higher learning institutions directly. That’s the most common way.
The second way is asking you to provide a copy of your diploma or your transcripts. Usually, the diploma is enough, but sometimes they may ask for transcripts
The third way is they contract with a third-party background checking service. They will go through your background to see what they find. That firm may contact either of the two. They may look at other factors, but ultimately, a third-party background service becomes the way that they do the background check or they check on your degree and your GPA.
