Never chase a recruiter, ever. Recruiters come to you or they don’t want to hear from you. You always always always keep moving to te next opportunity. Unless they contact you, and the hierarchy is call > email, forget they exist.
In the background lots of things can be going on:
1. Budgets- is this job really funded?
2. Hiring freezes – by November a lot of corporations stop hiring, period. They DO keep interviewing though
3. H1-B qualification… you may just be the sucker they interview with fanfare only to immediately disqualify you because they are just going through the motions
4. Internal candidates – in many companies internal candidates are given preference even up to the date where the job posting expires.
5. Too small a HR department- this seems to be very prevalent now, companies that constantly reprioritize what they are hiring for. One day it’s executives, the next day sales people, the next day accountants, etc. if your job is in a support role, expect low priority
Maurice, this i a great complement to the video. Thanks.
All this bullshit for a job.
You know it’s true! What I do with my 4000 or so videos is decipher what is really going on and offer strategies and tactics. Yes, it is BS. So much of life is. It;s why I wanted to level the playing field.
im in this situation right now
Sorry you’re going through this.
i had an interview last tuesday and a positive feedback text from recruiter on Friday saying “ company x said to “hold tight” the team is still discussing but they really liked you” today is monday and im getting anxious. what does it mean? how long should i wait before i call and should i call the recruiter or the hr directly 😔😔😔😔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Appreciate the advice, but your voice was really difficult to hear. Hopefully you’ve changed your mic by now
Thank you so much yes, it us different and had you liked the content
I re-listened to the video, I happened to have changed the mike but there was no audio issue when I listened. I know every once in a while, there are issues with how YouTube delivers a video and it’s audio. U can guess that us what happened
Hey Jeff I had an interview at McDonald’s 4 weeks does that mean they don’t wanna hired me
This is Bonnie for Jeff. He no longer responds to questions on YouTube. If you have omne for him, you can contact him via PrestoExperts.com or Magnifi, an iOS app.
You’re taking the “your recruiter” thing way out of context.
People KNOW that the recruiter is NOT literally “their” recruiter. It’s simply a colloquial way of phrasing a question or sentence.
I suppose you don’t condone saying “your interviewer”, either, right? Also – searchers do pay recruiters with their attention and time. Do not recruiters get paid based on RECRUITING efforts. Without recruits, how would recruiters survive?
Get off your high horse, kid.
Thank you for your comment. We obviously disagree. Recruiters receive $20, $25, $30000 and, in my case, significantly more as a fee. Payment in attention paled and wouldn’t satisfy the bank. I have heard too many job hunters believe they owned my time and that they were hiring me to find a job for them. So, having heard that statement many times, I recognize it and addressed it with my answer. And it is ok that we disagree. Lastly, I haven’t been called kid in 40 years.
