Follow the Money

In all sports, there is an expectation that people who are paid the most have the biggest impact on the game.
Thus, in pressure situations, we want the player that is being paid the most to be in the position to knock in a run, sack the quarterback, shoot the shot, kick the goal or throw the touchdown that wins the game.
Figure out or find out which projects are getting the most funding. Which work is getting the most funding. Align with people and projects that have the attention of leadership (unless you are someone who likes to fade into the woodwork).
These are the people and this is the work that makes a difference to leadership in the organization.
