First Impressions

Do you remember starting to date when you were younger? You prepared for the date and dressed with a certain style to create a great impression, right?
Whether you are getting ready for a date, an interview or meeting someone for the first time in your current work, first impressions matter. A great first impression can make the difference between someone paying attention to tuning you or tuning you out. Yet, many people develop lazy habits about their appearance or how they communicate their message and lose an opportunity.
There is an impact to how we dress or how we prepare that sends a message about us to others. After all, some perceive the laziness of lack of preparedness as disrespectful. Some see dressing poorly as not caring.
We can’t control how our appearance is perceived or how it is interpreted but at least what we can do is try. We can try enough to care.
