We all claim to want to do things easier and then take on jobs where we don’t ask for or receive support.
“It will be easier if I do it myself,” we rationalize to ourselves.
LIAR!
Is doing it forever really easier?
We sometimes persuade others of this lie we tell ourselves but it isn’t true.
Figuring things out on our own is “a time suck,” a way that we cheat ourselves out of portions of our life. Our improvement at work is limited because our time is occupied with tasks we can offload.
I did a video about time management where I pointed out that what we need to do is focus on our highest priorities each day and that the things that land on our desk from others is usually someone else’s less important priority that they are offloading to you.
Things can be much easier if you focus and work with others collaboratively.
There is no need to make excuses.
Just do it.
