    This is so true!
When I worked at my dream company, I seen mentioned play out the C suite management had been there for years. They were not interested in helping developing talented grow.
Some were but not all. I remember working with another teammate that showed me more in 6 mins then my boss did in 7 months.
I’ve been in many C Suites , I’ve found many of these “ high level professionals/ management are very selfish and backstabbing. Definitely not supportive . Not all C Suite professionals are non supportive, if you get lucky you can find individuals that can change your life.
Another takeaway I experienced ,is some of the C Suite management restrict opportunities to people of color , ethic groups. I also seen this in HR . I was offered rolls i wasn’t a fit for like admin , receptionist, EA , office manager. All these rolls are very important. They weren’t my area of specialty. Over all great video. I’m a new subbie:)

Avianca, welcome! I’m sorry I am right about this but I know it happens, too often. One of the things a person can do is during interviews with peers, you can ask, :What is s/he like to work for? Are they someone who helps you develop in your career? How have they done it for you?” You may need to read between the lines because many people are afraid to tell the truth. But most people will spot it.

@Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter thanks !
I agree with you . I was younger then and have learned now. This is very important as diversity and inclusion is still an issue with these companies.
It’s a huge emotional toll only being person of color, and constantly having to prove yourself and being treated as less than and under paid , but the management has unrealistic expectations of you.
This stress caused my health to decline and has also effected all other aspects of my life.

@Avianca G if you work in organizations with HR departments, you can meet with someone and ask a question along these lines, “As a person of color, when I hear that I am being less than others in my department, I start telling myself stories about why,” and, “when I am being offered inferior opportunities than others with lesser backgrounds than mine, I start telling myself stories. Would you get back to me after you look into why this has happened?” No threat. HR will initially feed you a BS story but you have alerted them to a problem and that you have noticed it. And I am an old white guy who has not been in your position. And brave conversations like this, in your way, are something to consider. Thanks for commenting and opening up
