Hi! I'm Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter and you are listening to The No BS Coaching Advice Podcast. I like to spend a few minutes talking with you regularly about life, the universe and everything.  Today's show comes out of a coaching call. I did not long ago with someone who is making progress.

When he reached out for help, he was in the dumps.  Emotionally, professionally, he was struggling. This is not uncommon for men in particular. Single men as they get older isolate, don't communicate, and enter a funk that they don't know how to get out of.  What I started working with him, the simplest place I started off with was getting him into the office regularly. I asked him to describe what his office look like.  I heard some things that describe a messy environment.  I suggested that he try to get his work environment neater.

"I don't expect perfection. Just try getting it tidy to some degree."
Let's fast forward a few weeks and things are starting to come together for him again. This park was lit in the course of him being in the office again with regularity, cleaning it up a bit.  With that, a flame was lit and he started to do better.  He is soon going to be stepping into an environment where he will become a torch for others, leading them in different ways . As he was supported.

I want to credit Lance Secretan for that metaphor. " The Spark, The Flame and The Torch" is the title of his book. It is a great read. Pick it up on Amazon.  Order a copy. I think you'll enjoy it.

For all of us, we need to get ourselves going and like the spark within us that burns brighter and more powerfully until we are ready to grab a torch and lead others.

If you would like support with that, email me at In the subject line, put the word, "coaching." In the body, describe where you are right now.  We'll set up a short conversation to see whether this will work for both of us.  I will be back soon with more. In the meantime, I hope you have a great day.
Take care.
