what happens if you lie about your references
i can't believe someone's asking this question
i'm jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. I'm a career coach.
i worked in recruiting for more than 40 years filled more than
1200 full-time positions plus consulting assignments
bizarre question because what are you hoping to gain here don't
you have a good reference from someplace because if you send
a reference to a firm and they decide to check it which many will do
and some won't but do you want to play russian roulette here
because that's what you're doing if they check a reference
and the reference responds by saying i don't know who this is
they start digging in deeper and they start looking more closely at your
background and they start to smell that you're a
liar. Is that really what you want because
that application that you filled out is a legal document that gives them
permission to check your references and you haven't given them one and if
they've made you a contingent offer they will rescind it if you're working
for them because hey it's pending the
reference check. No problem here," and then you start
working or you give notice, they'll fire you. That simple. So
go ahead do it feel free i'm not going to endorse that i don't know of anyone
their right mind who would but it's your choice your life that's
what can happen i'm jeff altman if you're interested in
