Someone asked the question that translates into, "What is some unconventional advice Forgetting some people, some recruiters to visit your LinkedIn profile?" Really, the answer starts off with understanding what conventional ways are available to people. Everyone thinks there is magic to it. When, in fact, there really is none. Here the conventional ways.

Understand how recruiters search LinkedIn. People search LinkedIn. They are searching because they have an account and recruiters will have a LinkedIn Recruiter account that lets them search the entire database. Why did they search the database? Because there trying to fill jobs, of course. In trying to fill jobs, they are searching by keywords, location… Those of the 2 basics. It could be by title, which, to me, is another keyword. They have a search function that breaks things out by degree, by title, by keywords, and a few other variables as well... Where you are from seniority standpoint. You want to make sure that your LinkedIn profile has keywords in the title that makes sense for LinkedIn and its data dictionary.

As you start to complete title on your profile, if you use unique title to your organization, the LinkedIn algorithm is not going to recognize it and it will be returned in search results. You always want to use a title that LinkedIn uses to propagate the field with. That makes it searchable for people who are looking for you.

Keywords. What is it that you do? What technology or functions do you perform and are they useful keywords for someone to find you.

A good picture of you. A good title underneath Your name. Things along those lines are pretty standard in the way of getting people to contact you. An association with a part of the world the job that you're looking for.

You want to be active in groups and sharing information. You want to be writing for the platform using the LinkedIn blogging platform in order to get people to come to your page. Those are the pretty standard ways. Let's look at a few atypical ways, a few unconventional ways.

1. You are arrested and it makes the newspapers.
2. You are a murderer.
3. You are a rapist.

I don't think you want to go those routes. People think this some sort of magic. You could do something weird that makes on the Internet, thus everyone starts to look at your profile.

Are these useful to you in finding a job? Of course, not. All they do is make you look like a whack job.

For most of you, frankly, I would stick with the obvious things. Could you have a major success that draws people to your profile? You bet you could! Something that gets publicized in your industry? You bet you could!

For most of you, you not to go that extra mile in order to do that, are you? That's the truth of it. Most of you want to be approached to do nothing to put the effort in to have people find you. So, let's just get real here.

Stick with the basics and you will have people coming to your LinkedIn profile.
