How do you measure your success? How do you define it? I'm Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. I'm a career and leadership coach. I used to work in search for many years and filled a lot of positions in the United States. Again, this is a question I know that gets asked at Google and many other clients I had. Let me, re-state that. At Google and at client's I had when I used to work in recruiting.

And the goal here is for them to get a sense of what inspires you, what motivates you, what floats your boat, however you want to define it. And it could be asked of you at a staff level. But it can also be asked for those of you in leadership.

And thus, it's ideal if you spend a little bit of time in advance, thinking of what success means to you but then also looking at the role that you're interviewing for and connecting the dots for them so they see how your interpretation of what success means to you, connects with what their goals and objectives are. I think you can see how this works very well, whether you're at staff, or at a leadership level, and there's no one right answer to it, because it always connects back to the role.

So I hope you found this helpful. I'm Jeff Altman. Visit my website, which is If you go to the site, you can go exploring in the blog, I've got a ton there to help you.
